Thank God it’s Friday!
End of the work week. For most the start of a fun-filled or relaxed, or a bit of both, weekend.
Work problems, difficult colleagues, horrendous traffic,
Time to recharge.
Know the feeling. Been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt.
But as my love affair with my Rosary continues, I found myself of thinking of Fridays in a different way.
The Mysteries are –
The Agony in the Garden.
The Scourging at the Pillar.
The Crowning with Thorns.
The Carrying of the Cross.
I’m uncomfortable with having to dwell on these Mysteries. Even the Fruits of the Mysteries bring me no relief.
Sorrow for Sin.
I stare out the heron waiting on the dock. Patiently. Persevering. All day. Every day.
Friday no longer seems fun.
T.G.I.F. has taken on a new meaning.
Thank you, my Lord that you sent your Son to die for us.
On a Friday.
I don’t believe I’ll ever think of Friday in the same way again.
