Some time ago I wrote about studying the original version of Oswald Chambers as well as the modern edited version when the original was too hard to follow. And I equated it. (Read: Something Old Something New)
This morning a new irritation surfaced. I read from the Od Devotional, didn’t understand. No problem, out came the Updated Edition in Today’s Language and what do you know, I still didn’t get the message. Back to the Old, return to the New, did the “yo-yo” bit a few times, scratched my head, progressively got more irritated and reluctantly came to the conclusion that I wasn’t “ready.”
Maybe, maybe, yup, maybe in time, with more study and prayer I will understand. And maybe not. And that’s okay. Maybe I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, writing for ordinary folks. In simple everyday language. With a simple everyday message.
Maybe I’m destined to remain a happy little tadpole, the happiest one in the pond. (Read: I’m a Tadpole.)
And maybe you are exactly where you should be. That wonderful woman Joyce Meyer said: “Begin to accept and enjoy yourself where you are and God will help you get to where you need to be.”’
The following is a simple New Age Prayer, sometimes incorrectly attributed to St. Theresa of Avila. (I was guilty as well until I did some research.)
Too many “maybes” and maybe that’s okay as well.
Cyber hugs and blessings to all.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be confident, knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
