It was just a small group of boaters in a mini-get-together. We all knew each other, the classic scenario of laughing, chatting, eating, drinking and having fun.
Then a couple joined us, not members of the group. I immediately set about telling her how wonderful we were and what she’s missing out on not being an “official” member blah – blah – blah… All of this with the proverbial twinkle in my eye and tongue in cheek and fingers crossed behind my back!
She heard me out and what do you know, but that danged woman opened her arms and said, “May I hug you?”
I believe I shot straight up 3 feet into the air (strange saying that, where else can one shoot straight up to) and when I landed allowed myself to be grabbed. Many mutual hugs later we parted and I floated back to our boat.
Now I know how it feels to be asked “May I Hug You?”
AND IT FEELS GOOD!
